The Medium team has decided on continuing to implement a POW/POS model using the GhostRider hashing algorithm ! While we focus efforts, a tradeable Medium token will be released on the Zether (ZTH) network in January to accommodate trading across exchanges in the mean-time. We are mostly focusing on testing with the Ghostrider Hashing Algorithm ( originating from the Raptoreum Block-Chain ) for its resilience and efficiency. We feel CPU mining could obtain more geographical decentralization. Feel free to share your opinion on ideal hashing algos and why !
After analyzing best methods for decentralization and maintaining the chain security that comes with it, Medium is currently looking at adopting a Proof-of-stake model along side Proof-of-work to process blocks. Here's to keeping crypto seamless and accessible !
