Dreadful solace in a dreary hour!
Such, kin, is not (now) my theme -
I will say madly keen that power
Of Self may shrive me of sin
Unearthly pride hath (not) done me in -
I have summoned dreams no dote: You call it magic - that hope of hope!
It is nothing but waves of smiles. If I can dream -
Oh God! I can -
Its mind is power - built divine-
I would not call thee sad, old man,
But yet such a burden of mine.
Know thou secret of spirt
Bow'd not from wild pride or shame.
O! yearning heart! I did inherit
Thy canvas art with the frame,
Thy paints glory with its domain.
Amist the jewels of thy throne, I
humbly sit amongst the firey bones
Not thy dementors! Shall make me fear again -
O! craving magic, for the lost flowers
And sunshine for summer hours!
Th' sands are plenty and full of time,
Boundless it's interminable chime,
Rings, in spirt of spell,
Upon thy book - enchanting bell.
I have not always been as now:
The glowing smiles below my brow
I've lost and woe unsurprisingly -
Hath not the same fierce loves give
Mythic to the digital - this is me?
A heritage of humbled mind,
A proud spirit soft and kind
Triumphantly a reply in kind
Below the soil I first drew life:
The rain poes knocked my head
Nightly thier flows I did not dred,
And, I believe, the flickful swish
And smell of a mushroom lick
Have nestled in my hair such a trick
So late in time - that rain - it fell
(Magic words I write the spell)
Upon me - with a touch of dread,
With casts flashing red in light
From words that hung, like banners, sky
Appeared to my illiterate - eyes.
The elaboratisity without disguise,
Came hurriedly upon me, telling
Of human life, where my thoughts,
My own words, silly boy!-were twirling
(O! How my mind would rejoice, And leap within my knots and ties)
The battle-cry of Victory!
The dew came down on my head
Unfeather'd - and the ravens gust
Was mountainish - so thou, my thoughts! -
It was but me, I think, who shed
Doubt upon myself: and the rush-
The curve of the breezy sea
Crashed within my lines the bang
Of community - within the casted prayer -
The notes of music - and the ear
Of flattering 'round a birdly throne.
My passions, for that quilless hour, Unsurpassed by pens witch men
Have gleamed since I have reached the power;
My gullible nature - be it so:
But l, kin, kindness no advantage, then,
Then - in my nature - where there coals
Burning with an interstellar glow .
(For generosity, must, with time, expire)
Even if ye knew this caged heart
Only love could break bars apart.
Alas! - I have no ink - to write
The loveliness of empty nights!
Not that I would attempt to place
The mesh of beauty without trace
Who's wick, upon thy mind
Are - wings on th' bustful binds:
Thus I remember having delt
Some cards of early lore upon,
With loitering eye, left on the self.
The symbols -with their meaning-melt
To fantasies-with ones self.
O, it is worthy of all love!
Love - as in dreams are ours-
Tis such an angel clouds above
Might envy; it's eternal heart the shine
On which its every hope and thought
Were increased - then a magic gift,
For they were wishes - and stars
Pure - as they fell through night:
Why did it burn away, and, adrift,
Trust to the Sun within, for light?
We grow in age - and love - together
Roaming the ethos, and the wild;
My ashes its seeds in wintery weather
And, when the sunshine smiles,
And it would mark the opening skies,
I saw its paint - sparkling in its eyes!
