SmnqsdeHFT0 Defense of the Ancients (known by its acronym as DotA and in Spanish as Defense of the Ancestors ) is a custom setting for the video game Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne , created with the World Editor that includes the video game. The map is played in two teams, and the objective of the game is to destroy the Ancient (in Spanish "ancestor") of the opponent. The Ancients are heavily protected structures, located in opposite corners of the map. Players control powerful units known as "heroes", which are aided by artificial intelligence controlled unitscalled "creeps." Like in a role-playing video game, the heroes gain experience points to increase their abilities and use gold to buy equipment and useful items during the mission. Defense of the Ancients (DotA)
