What is Medium? Proof-of-Stake along side Proof-of-Work Consensus: Combining POS and POW enhances decentralization and chain integrity while keeping the coin acessable to everyone. Cross-chain Interoperability with UTXOs: Medium will enable seamless communication and asset transfer between blockchains using UTXOs. Scalability & Security: High throughput with fast block times with a focus on decentralization, security, and low latency. What is the UTXO Conversion Layer? Medium will create a UTXO conversion layer that allows UTXO-based blockchains (e.g., Bitcoin) to communicate directly with the Medium blockchain. This layer maps the UTXO outputs to Medium’s address system, ensuring that Medium can interpret and validate UTXOs from other chains. -Cross-Chain Bridge (CCB) The Cross-Chain Bridge is a smart contract mechanism that locks UTXOs on one chain (e.g., Bitcoin) and issues a corresponding token or asset on Medium. Once the user completes the transaction on Medium, the UTXO can be unlocked on the original chain. -HTLCs: A common pattern for cross-chain swaps, these will be used to ensure that transactions can occur atomically, preventing either side of the transaction from failing. -Tokenized Assets on Medium Assets from UTXO-based chains are tokenized on Medium and represented as assets. These tokenized assets can be transferred, staked, and used within the Medium ecosystem. Development Roadmap (Current) Phase 1: Foundation & Core Development Set up a testnet for PoS consensus and UTXO handling. Implement cross-chain bridges with Bitcoin and Litecoin. Develop the staking model and validator incentives. Phase 2: Cross-Chain Functionality & Tokenomics Integrate UTXO model into Medium blockchain. Finalize the Cross-Chain Bridge (CCB) and UTXO conversion layer. Start tokenizing UTXO-based assets on Medium. Phase 3: Mainnet Launch & Ecosystem Expansion Launch Medium’s mainnet with cross-chain functionality. Onboard additional UTXO-based chains into the ecosystem. Implement decentralized governance through community engagement.
