Especially during these times we can see the struggles people have with finding equal opportunities or trying to converge in a situation where minorities are also included and taken into consideration when generating new projects and looking for market expansion. Then, we realize that cryptocurrencies, not as some people believe, are indeed a tool of integration thanks to the characteristics it has: it is not aligned to any specific government, momentum, banks, corporations or limited to any circle of society, but most importantly, which is an important part of the subject for today’s post is that crypto is not imposed as a measure of egalitarianism or inclusion but it is settled as a free alternative to naturally bring a sense of freedom and equality to those who use it.
It’s better when things comes naturally
Recently the film industry news was a bomb after the Academy Awards stated their new “inclusion” standards to opt for the Best Picture award. As the Academy said: this was a measure to push forward to have more inclusion “on and off-screen” Yet the news was surrounded by strong disagreement, those who believed the movies to be a free art which expression deserves to be free and rewarded for being just that a “best picture” instead of a piece made to please minorities.
But not everything is as easy to solve, people then wonder what they should do to support the inclusion of the minorities without being forceful; and this is a matter that seems to translate to almost every human expression. However, it is not the case when it comes to using cryptocurrencies. Without imposing and without forcing, the market absorbed almost naturally the use of crypto in such a way that it’s now being used even to pay health insurance and phone services, all in accordance with what the market (the people) have shown a need for.
Blockchain technology is a technology made principally to bring back the power of election to people, so they can choose how and for what they want to use it. It is the reason why even now it's in continuous development and integrating with other technological expressions, such as the case of Defi algorithms and the creation of customized cryptocurrencies.
A tool for inclusion
As explained by the Global Diversity Practice Inclusion or diversity “is any dimension that can be used to differentiate groups and people from one another. In a nutshell, it’s about empowering people by respecting and appreciating what makes them different, in terms of age, gender, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, education, and national origin” To this day inclusion is a word that causes concern all over the world and we can see that it has been changing every sector of the market yet some worry that they haven’t really been able to achieve it.
Even though it sounds propagandistic, custom cryptocurrencies can become a tool or inclusion because they are already made to stay neutral when it comes to people’s differences in race, genre or moral or religious concepts. Anyone can use it as a resource to make transactions freely without the need for banking accounts. At the same time, anyone who uses it is given identity protection if needed and his/her interests are protected by blockchain security.
Accessibility is also a very important characteristic of the digital coins created using blockchain technology, the fact that anyone with an internet connection can have access to it and manage them using something as simple as a smartphone or under the warmth of their home. Digital tokens as a measure of crowdfunding as well can break walls and open doors for more inclusiveness without it being forceful as people participate in campaigns willingly and allow themselves to remain anonymous.
Egalitarianism is always one of the first concepts attached to the Blockchain technology and the world of cryptocurrencies. Ever since it's possible for people to have access to a method of payment and market interaction through the web that is secure and reliable we have won a battle against centralization and social disparity. It is up to us now, to make the best out of it.
